[Earth in Brackets] is a project of College of the Atlantic. It is a concept, a documentary, and a journal. Its purpose is to shed light on the inner workings of international politics, specifically United Nations negotiations. Decisions made at these forums impact everybody on the planet, yet very few know they even take place. Let’s change that.

In international negotiations, [brackets] signify contentious areas within negotiating text being discussed.
[Earth in Brackets] as a concept highlights the fact that government negotiators have essentially put the entire planet onto the negotiating table.
